(i) Your fertility doctor will order blood tests to check the levels for follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), prolactin, progesterone, testosterone, and luteinizing hormone (LH). And also order an ultrasound to check for ovarian cysts fibroid tumors,or other abnormalities.
(ii) Other tests would include a post-coital test, which will determine if sperm can penetrate and survive in the cervical mucus, a hysterosalpingogram, which is an X-ray procedure used to check the uterus and fallopian tubes for tumors, scars or blockages, or an endometrial biopsy, which assesses the quality of the uterine lining.
(iii) Fertility testing for men includes a semen analysis, as well as testing for hormone levels, including FSH, LH, testosterone and prolactin. Your fertility doctor may also recommend an ultrasound to check for any signs of obstruction in the scrotum.
